About Our Classes

 Our classes are held 

Tuesday 1 - 3 pm and 6 - 8 pm,

Wednesday 1 - 3 pm and 6 - 8 pm

Saturday afternoons 1 pm - 3 pm

Sunday afternoon 1 pm - 3pm

Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday classes are structured as 5 week foundation courses and 10 week term 

courses for students who have completed 2 x 5 week foundation courses.

Our Saturday classes are one-off classes for students wanting to come and try pottery.

Our 5 class pass is available for students who are unable to come to the 5 week class 5 weeks in a row.

"Pottery and Plonk" Group booking are available to book online or email judekeoghceramics@gmail.com.

Groups of up to 8 people are available for wheel throwing classes.

BYO Drinks -

We can provide a grazing platter and the use of glassware for $150 (inc. GST) per person

BYO Everything -

BYO food and drink with the use of our glassware for $125 (inc. GST) per person.

No BYO

Group bookings without BYO food and drink is $110 (inc. GST) per person.

Larger groups of up to 18 people are available as a handbuilding class.

Handbuilding classes are available for $88 (inc. GST) per person (no BYO).

$99 (inc. GST) per person BYO drinks only, glassware provided.

The retail ceramics shop is open Friday 10 am - 4 pm 

Saturday and Sunday10 am - 1 pm

Closed Monday and Thursday.

 

Class participants are required to bring a hand towel, enclosed shoes (no high heels), and comfortable clothes that can get clay on them. Bring an apron if you like or one can be purchased. Long hair should be tied back, and tools will be provided.

The course and class costs include clay, glazing, and firing.

 

If you are hiring the studio for use of the wheels please bring your own tools, clay and glazes. All clay and glazes brought into the studio needs to be in its original packaging for acurate identification.

Clay is available for purchase. These are Walkers PB103, Keane stoneware 33, Keane stoneware 5, Keane stoneware 7, Keane Porcelain and Keane Cone 6 white.

Firing service

Pottery can be fired for $15 per kilo for glaze and bisque firing. Bisque only is $7 per kilo. Pots glazed using our studio glazes are $20 per kilo for firing.

Buckets of pre mixed glazes are also available.

Using the pottery wheel involves bending over the pottery wheel so people with back issues are encouraged to participate in handbuilding pottery or be aware that using the wheel may agrevate back conditions.

​Classes are for people aged 16 years old and over.

We will run childrens classes from time to time and through the school holidays.

Unfortunately due to the age of the Earth & Fire Studio building we do not have wheelchair access.
